I Have a Dream......

Dream is one of the important things of human life. We can't life without dream. Dream isn't just scenes of situation when we are sleeping. Dream is our future plan. Dreams make us become a person who wants to do great effort and hard work to reach the dream.

Guys, I have dreams, which are always saved in my mind and now I always try to reach my dreams. First of all, I want to graduate my collage in Sanata Dharma University as soon as possible. I think 4 years are enough to study in here. In the future, I want to be an English teacher. I choose to teach in kindergarten or elementary school. Although, many people say that teach in kindergarten or elementary school is more difficult than teach in junior high school or senior high school. It’s because I like children and I really want to teach them. I will become good and kind teacher. So, they will always miss me and try to find me if they don’t meet with me. Sometimes I will ask my students for sharing with me, in class or outside the class. They will share about their family, their hobbies, or their dreams. I can know them more from their story, such as their personality and it will help me when I teach them.

My third dream is join to famous make up school. I want learn more about make up and I want to develop my skill in make up. I choose Rudy Hadisuwarno School and Puspita Martha School. I will join Rudy Hadisuwarno before I join to Puspita Martha School. It’s because the fee in Rudi Hadisuwarno School is cheaper than Puspita Martha School. Rudy Hadisuwarno School is located in Babarsari. There are many classes in here and for every class we must pay Rp 1.400.000,00 to study for four months. They are Contemporer Hair Cutting (Cut - Colour - Style), Sanggul Contemporer, High Fashion Hair Style, Make Up Contemporer, Hair & Make Up (For Photography), Hair & Make Up (For Fashion Show), Hair & Make Up (For Film / Sinetron / TV), Hair & Make Up (Contemporary Bridal), Master Private Course (By Rudy Hadisuwarno), Master Private Course (By Gunawan Hadisuwarno), and Salon Management. After we study in here we will get international sertificat from Rudy Hadisuwarno Organization and “World Federation of Hairdressing & Beauty Schools”.

There are many programs in Puspita Martha School. They are school of make up, school of hairdressing, school of beauty aesthetic, and school of Spa. For every program we must pay Rp 8.000.000,00 to study for six months. Puspita Martha graduates always participate in nasional or internasional events, for example Miss ASEAN, Indonesian Idol, Mercedes Benz Fashion Show, and many more. I really want to join with both of them.

Guys, those are my dreams. What about you?
I hope that one day all of our dreams will be come true.

The Graduation announcement day is one of my unforgettable experiences. It happened one year ago on June 13, 2009. The Graduation announcement day is the important day for all of the students in third grade. In that day, we got the result of final exam. I think all of the students have the same feeling like me. I feel very worried about the result. At that time, I always prayed every time. I went to church every morning, at 3 p.m I prayed "koronka", and at 9 p.m I prayed "novena". In the evening before the graduation announcement day, I couldn't sleep all the night because I always thinking about the announcement.

The morning came and I wake up early. I made preparation to go to school. I wore batik because my teacher asked us to wear batik in the graduation announcement day. My teacher also asked us to brought “sembako” that used to charity. I went to school at 9 a.m. My school was crowded when I came. The announcement gave in the class and started at 10 a.m. The teacher had come when my friends and I came to the class. The teacher called us one by one from the smallest number and gave us an envelope. The envelope was content of letter about the final exam result. All of the students in my school were graduated. Our headmaster and our teachers were very proud of us. After that, we are gathered in the school yard because we would celebrate our graduation. My headmaster and "Kepala Dinas" gave speech to say congratulation for us.We celebrated our graduation by “pawai andong”. We used andong to go around Yogyakarta’s streets. We started from my school to Pojok Beteng wetan, Brigjend. Katamso Street, Alun-Alun, Tamansari, Pojok Beteng kulon, and finish in my school.

Heemmm...It’s very unforgettable moment for me. Guys, what about your experiences when you’re waiting the graduation announcement day? Please, share to me or give comment to me.

The Special Dish of Christmas

Guys, do you know what the special food of Christmas is? Ginger cookies! Yes, ginger cookies is the special dish of Christmas which is made of flour and powdered ginger. Ginger cookies are fragrant with molasses, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. This dish is traditionally eaten at Christmas day, especially in foreign country. In Indonesia, it isn’t common for us. However, my family and I have ever made ginger cookies at Christmas day. Have you ever made this delicious dish? It isn’t difficult to make this special dish. Now, I will explain you about the step to make special ginger cookies with royal icing.

First of all, the ingredients and the utensils must be prepared. You will need 650 grams flour, 100 grams powdered sugar, 75 grams palm sugar, 300 grams unsalted butter, 1 egg, 2 teaspoons powdered ginger, I teaspoon baking soda, ¼ teaspoon spices (cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves), ¼ teaspoon salt, and 2/3 cup (160 ml) molasses. The utensils are oven, electric mixer, bowl, and wax paper.

Okay, let’s star to cooking. First, the flour, salt, baking soda, spices are whisked together in a large bowl with electric mixer or with a hand mixer. They are set aside. Butter, powdered sugar, and palm sugar are whisked until light and fluffy. The egg and molasses are added and beaten together with the butter mixtures. The flour mixtures are added gradually. They are then beaten until blended together. The dough is divided in half. They are wrapped in plastic wrap or wax paper. Then, they are refrigerated for at least two hours or overnight. Next, oven is preheated to 350 degrees F (177 degrees C). The dough is rolled out to a thickness (about ¼ inch). They are then cut into shapes with cookie cutters and placed on baking sheets about 2 inches between each cookie. The cookies are baked for 8 to 12 minutes in the preheated oven. The time of baking is depending on the size of the cookies. Small ones will be taken about 8 minutes, larger cookies will be taken about 12 minutes. They are done when the edges are beginning to brown. Then, the cookies are removed from the oven and placed to a plate.

Ginger cookies are decorated with royal icing. Royal icing is a mixture of powdered sugar, lemon juice, and egg whites. You will need 2 egg whites, 2 teaspoons lemon juice, and 350 grams powdered sugar. First, the egg whites and the lemon juice are beaten with electric mixer. Powdered sugar are added and beaten on low speed until combined and smooth. Food color is added to give color in the royal icing. Finally, the cookies are covered with the royal icing.
